My Obsession with AMV's

Yes, I know I am quite obsessed with anime but I also really enjoy anime music videos. It's pretty much just a fan made music video made up of clips from the anime or fan art. I think of it as a contribution of art depending on what type of AMV it is.

I follow a YouTube group called HaikyuuBattleProject who makes these AMV's called MEP's which are multi editor projects. Very similar product to an AMV except a whole group comes together and contributes to making certain parts of the video. AMV's are usually made alone.

This is an amazing example of what AMV's I watch. This is an MEP produced by HBP, I hope you enjoy their hard work. It is from my all time favorite anime Haikyuu and I am currently obsessed with it, if you couldn't tell. This video is comprised of so much work, notice all the scene transitions, shading, colors, fading, camera animations, and just putting so much time into making these amazing videos. The people who make these are artists of a different kind of art.

It's much more than just HBP that make amazing AMV/MEP's. There are plenty of other great artists, it's just HBP focuses specifically on Haikyuu. There is SuperNovaStudios, Hidden Love Studio, SweetYaoiStudio, and so many unpopular YouTubers who post a few. These are just the ones I subscribed to and have watched too many of their videos.

A Silent Voice

I am currently reading this outstanding manga called Koe no Katachi (aka A Silent Voice). There is a movie coming out based on the manga. It's absolutely beautiful and it hits home for me.

The main character Shoya Ishida is riddled with regret from his past. When he was younger he bullied a deaf girl named Nishimiya. She struggled to get along with everyone from school as the whole class soon started bullying her. They all hated her and Shoya blames himself. After the bullying went too far Nishimiya transfers schools and the whole class turns against Shoya and throws him under the bus. The school soon punished Shoya for bullying her, even though they all weren't innocent themselves. He lost all his friends and everyone's trust. Soon he was bullied just like he bullied Nishimiya. When he entered high school he attempted to kill himself but something stopped him. He met Nishimiya again, a faithful encounter that changed his life completely. It is a story about how to love and appreciate life.

The story is filled with Shoya overcoming his self doubt, learning to make friends, to let himself love others and himself, to trust others, and to have fun. I relate deeply to Shoya, even though he was a quite a rowdy kid I can relate to how he was. He was bullied and so was I but not to the degree of physical abuse. I was shunned by others and still am, it's hard to make friends and knowing Shoya does too makes me really relate to him. He has trust issues and immense guilt, so do I.

Nishimiya is a sweet, wholehearted person, always has been and probably always will be. Even in elementary school when she was being bullied really roughly she smiled to others. She always tried her best to fit in and I can relate to this as well. I tried my best when I moved schools in third grade but I was ignored or called names. Nishimiya always helped others as much as she could, even though it was hard to communicate with everyone. When she finally got hearing aids all the kids started teasing her for wearing them and Shoya would throw them in the pond. I feel how much she suffered up to her transfer. Her teacher even shunned her, he wanted her to stop raising her hand and participating because it'd slow down the rest of the class. After the faithful meeting with Shoya five years later she starts to change, instead of having to pretend to be happy she can really smile sincerely after meeting Shoya.

After the first few chapters though things really pick up, drama happens, people who Shoya never wanted to see again show up, things begin to change... What will he do? If you're really interested you can download the manga for free on almost any manga website such as MangaReader, MangaGo, and MangaFox. If you're also interested in the anime, it's a movie currently in theaters in Japan. It'll be licensed in America sometime in a few months. For now let's enjoy the trailer for the movie :)

I'm actually slightly disappointed because some scenes in the trailer happen differently in the manga... How many people have read a book and the movie tells it differently?? It's like, you have the whole script in the book, why change things? The scene they changed was actually important for character development. I could go on and on about manga v. anime comparisons. This is why I prefer manga to anime. Whether they changed a few things or not I'm still extremely excited for this movie!! So hyped!!

After some digging around I found a few reviews on Japanese sights on what they said about the movie after leaving the theater. I am truly in aw about some of them and my heart is already sore from reading most of the manga. In some moments I'm ready but in other's I don't know what to expect. Here are a few reviews I could find that were translated somewhat properly:

Please excuse the sites grammatical errors in its translations

"High school students, as in this much delicately draw a contrary to wavering self-consciousness hateful, Sonouede hope and "its all love you want the" movie wonder there are other. Naoko Yamada of supervision, affection enough of such defenseless is too rare, I think the very existence is that it is impressive. And, "voice" of aiko. That voice is the the one and spokesman to give shape to the supervision of love, it was a wonderful thing that would be up to the afterglow of the end credits in the message." ~ from somebody on http://koenokatachi-movie.com/

""The definition of a friend," that I have been thinking much,
I felt that was found a little watching this movie.
After leaving the theater, you get used to surely obediently to the people around." ~ from somebody on http://koenokatachi-movie.com/

"We were allowed to watch with the same eyes of a high school student, but was able to very sympathetic to the delicate feelings to friends and around.
Or try to escape or become cowardly, surely high school students who think the same thing is not it often Kana me.
That's why, become painful chest and watching the work, but the tears did not stop. But, the tears feel in really warm things, you mind going now to clean was very Kokochiyoka'.
I want a lot of spread for those of the same generation! I want you to watch! It was a very nice work, such as think." From somebody on http://koenokatachi-movie.com/

From just reading the reviews do you want to watch this movie? I hope I have sparked your interest. If you're really into it why not read the manga, it only has 64 chapters. Psst, it's probably better than the anime. I bet both the anime and the manga are beautiful and worth your time. I know it's worth my time, it has already changed me. As this post is coming to its end, it's my time to go and binge read the rest of it!

Arigatou Gozaimasu for reading, I hope you have an outstanding day~!!!

Favorite Theme Countdown

My most favorite openings and endings all comprised in a least to most favored list of 10. Of course this was also a bit difficult to decide. It'd be amazing if you gave a minute to listen to each one.

Let's begin with
#10

LEO by Tacica
This theme just reminds me of a hot summers day. It fills me with warm feelings. Plus it's from my favorite anime and the song is so relaxing.

#9
Genesis by Stereo Dive Foundation
One of the best themes in my opinion. I love techno dubstep and the opening animation makes me want to dance along. It's action packed and has very nice effects. That is all I really have to say. A good theme for a good anime.

#8
Hello, Shooting Star
This theme is just the definition of adorable. If you watch this anime you'd understand why this theme is on my list, I do prefer the manga though. The theme song itself is down right adorable and gives the anime a bitter sweet feeling. It is unavoidable to love the main character with him being the reason the anime even happens the way it does. This theme is bittersweet and really cute, thus is why it's on my list.

#7
Daisy by Stereo Dive Foundation
I fell in love with the art style in this opening. I also really love the singers voice. It brought the anime together and really captured how the main character is. She is waiting for someone to hold her hand while things happen around her, she struggles to feel like she belongs and feels empty inside. I really relate to her in that way, not only that it's a bittersweet anime with great characters and a very deep plot. I recommend you watch it but at this point I might as well recommend every anime I love.

#6
Aoi Shiori by Galileo Galilei
The singers voice is and always will be instantly recognized for me. I love his voice too much and the anime this theme goes along with is quite beautiful as well. It is sad that the band broke up... So listening to this theme song makes me a bit sad along with the already bittersweet feeling I receive from it. It's hard to listen to it without getting a little emotional, the anime is just too sad. I highly recommend it.

#5
Mashi Mashi by
It is the ending theme for the third season of Haikyuu!! that I've been so excited for. When this song played at the end of the first episode I thought it was just so cute and I loved to listen to it after each episode. It shows all the teams that had appeared in the anime and I love how it's simple and sweet.

#4
Hikaru Nara by Goose House
Captivating and beautiful, it captures each characters personalities and introduces the plot perfectly. The animation is outstanding, I can't look away with how the colors contrast together. It gives me a bittersweet feeling watching it because the anime is too good. I recommend 100%!

#3
History Maker by Dean Fujioka
If you listened you might have noticed it is in English. I really love to sing along to theme songs especially this one. The art is unique and very beautiful with extravagant colors and I love the way they're skating to the song, each movement is cascaded with colors like a painting.

#2
My Soul Your Beats by Lia
It is inevitable that on this list my first anime's theme is top 3. I'd sing it over and over, I loved it too much because it is so catchy and the piano is beautiful along with the animation.

And now.. The moment has come to reveal my all time favorite theme...
Ahem, drum roll please??

#1
Brave Song by Aoi Tada
I've said this before and I'll say it again. I great theme brings the anime together and this one hit home.  I mean this theme is the whole anime, it brings it all together and creates this atmosphere of hope. Especially that last episode... I'm crying just watching it!!
.

.
.
But wait... There is more!!!

BONUS:
The very last episode of Angel Beats had a different ending theme and it's just as beautiful as the other theme songs. I put the full song but it is 6 minutes so feel free to listen if you want :) I can't bare to listen to it, so maybe you could listen for me!

ARIGATOU GOZAIMASU FOR WATCHING~!!

Anime of 2016 results

I am mostly utterly disappointed with the results. There were 13 categories and only 1 of my votes won. Even with that one win though, it makes me happy. A surprising amount of people voted this year and I am excited that I got to be one of the 1.8 million.

Hero of the Year - Izuku "Deku" Midoriya from Boku no Hero Academia My Vote <3

Villain of the Year - Yoshikage Kira I have no clue who this is haha...

Best Boy - Yuuri Katsuki from Yuri!!! On Ice I knew he'd win... He's super popular. Also not my vote.

Best Girl - Rem I should've watched this one.

Best Fight Scene - Shigeo vs. Koyama I wish Deku vs. Kacchan won...

Best Animation - Yuri!!! On Ice Not surprised but seriously disappointed, the animation is NOT that unique, nothing is flashy about the animation at all.

Most Heartwarming Scene - The Kiss To me this scene was nice but definitely did not cause me to cry or get all warm inside. This scene is a first of a few to have same sex couple kiss but not show it and keep it some sort of obvious secret. Not a surprise since this anime is so popular...

Best Drama - ERASED I NEED TO WATCH THIS ONE AHH!!!

Best Couple- Yuuri & Viktor Again, I'm not surprised...

Best Comedy - Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto! Need to watch this one too. I saw cut scenes from it and it looks ridiculous lolol

Best Action - Mob Psycho 100 Over powered anime in my opinion. Sounds interesting though, need to watch this too.

Best Opening - Yuri!!! On Ice What did you expect?? Ugh, too much of this anime everywhere... You know what I voted for, Haikyu season three opening, that's the best theme ever.

Best Ending - Yuri!!! On Ice Oh my god, seriously??? No surprise, I wanted Haikyu season three ending to win.

Here, you can check out the official website where I got this info from. I disagree with a majority of these votes. I am pretty upset only one of my votes made it but whatever. I love Deku and he deserves hero of the year. I wanted Haikyu Season Three to win opening because it gets me so pumped up. Thanks for viewing, check out the real website though.

More MEP's

Another MEP I fell in love with awhile back was this one by Hidden Love Studio.

As you can tell most AMV/MEP's are filled with fanart as well. This is very common and they use them very effectively in this one. There is also use of character ships, basically fans pairing characters together even though in the anime they show little romantic interest in each other. This is also a very common things outside of AMV/MEP's. I do it all of the time.

The Anime Obsessions

There are more than plenty of people who love anime because it is a hobby. There are certainly people out there with obsessions or lifestyles built around anime. I will provide pictures to show you what an obsession looked like. I will start off with least obsessed to most obsessed.

1) Watching/reading anime/manga, fan art, fan fiction, and/or roleplay
I don't really need to provide pictures for this, it's very self explanatory. This is someone who has maybe just gotten into anime or this is all they have time for. Spending their spare time watching/binge watching episodes. If they have artistic talent they might doodle the characters or write fan fiction. If they are into this, role playing is quite fun. Pretending to be the anime characters in a group chat adding a whole story line as if you're writing a story with other people. I do all of these.

2) Collectibles/merchandise
This is where you have bought figurines or posters of anime. Where you have a few or so shirts or anime related merchandise. These few pictures are just the tip of the iceberg. I have a few shirts, figures, and a poster.

3) Cosplayers
These people dress up at anime characters and go to cons. They either spend too much money on the cosplay material or make it themselves. Either way it's very impressive and they are amazing. Some of these are just amazing. I went out to Halloween one year as a character from one of my favorite video games. Years ago I went out to Halloween as my favorite characters from Angel Beats!

This is a cosplay comparison of Keneki Ken from Tokyo Ghoul. Just thinking about how much make up was used to produce this look. It looks stunning, they created the scene perfectly, including the mask, eye contacts, and maybe even a wig. Right there is so much time and money put into this. It is awesome! Kudos!!
Sasha Braus from Attack on Titan. The whole uniform set and maneuver gear is a whopping amount of money. Just the jacket is about $50 let alone the gear is nearly $200. They probably has make up on as well. Impressive, the wig is perfect and even the bread in her mouth. Perfect, kudos!

How could I not add in one of my favorite anime. Haikyuu cosplayers cosplaying as Karasuno team, the main protagonists. They are probably all wearing making up, maybe chest binders, wigs, and of course the uniforms. Depending on popularity the uniforms' prices range from $25 to $40. Even the volleyball in the picture is a replica so it probably costs a lot, even as a real volleyball.

A stunning cosplay, simple yet complex. I bet the wig took forever to style into the right position, the mask, jacket, possibly contacts, headband, and possibly make up. I don't watch Naruto but seeing this Kakashi cosplayer was amazing. Kudos!

4) The obsession really begins once you start to spend every moment of your life rapped into this. They never stop buying merchandise, never stop watching, buying more collections upon collections. I wouldn't even need to explain more, here let me show you what this turns into...

Need I go on? Body pillows, 100+ figurines, cases filled with them, posters, bed sheets, every inch covered in anime. It is not my way of life, but I am quite impressed with people who do this. How do they have so much money???

Could the obsession get any worse?? The answer is yes...

5) I'd say the final "stage" is being a NEET (Not Educated, Employed, or Training) meaning you live in your room 24/7. Now, I may be a hermit and have an obsession but I couldn't ever live life like this. Dedicating every moment to watching, reading, in my room forever. Now, not every NEET is an anime fan or a hermit but this way of life is the ultimate obsession for most fans.

What do you think about this way of life?

I hope you enjoyed my post about the anime obsession. Do you find it creepy? I can tell you right now, yes. Yes, this is quite creepy.

New Upcoming Anime for 2017

It is always tough starting a new year, the stress of change and upcoming presidential changes here in America are upon us. For me it is a new year full of all new anime ready to be discovered. These are just the few anime I have my eyes out for.

Attack on Titan Season 2
After the 3 year long wait season two is finally here. If you haven't heard of this mainstreamed popular anime than what are you waiting for. It's action packed with moderate character development, deep hidden plot, and amazing theme songs. I've read the manga and to finally see it's devastating events play out on screen is exciting (and heartbreaking). This anime is not for you if you don't like gore, the concept of human's being hunted by large monstrous titans, or if you're a big hater of mainstream anime. I totally understand those reasons, but whether you like this one or not I will express my overjoy to everyone that season two is finally here. The first season summary is Eren Yaeger's life is changed drastically when the titans have breached the walls and destroyed his home. Eren, Mikasa, and Armin are the main characters who go through a tough life to becoming part of the regiment that kills titans. The second season is the results of what they have become in season 1.

Little Witch Academia
This is a pretty magical anime. The art style is quite adorable and the plot is original. Atsuko Kagari is the main protagonist that enrolls in a witch school to practice magic, expecting it to be fun it turned into hard working classes. She enrolled to follow in her roll model's foot steps but nothing exciting is happening, until a faithful moment. When a rampaging dragon shows up she must help defend the school to prove herself to her classmates.

Hand Shakers
Right off the bat, the art style is extremely unique. Beautiful, it captured me and I just had to add it to my plan to watch list. Other than the art style the plot is quite futuristic and filled with magical abilities. The two main characters have a magical power to summon weapons to fight others with the same powers. It is action packed, plot deep, character filled, and interesting. I have hopes that this won't turn into The Hunger Games or just any typical fight to the death film.

Kuzu no Honkai
The anime's interesting concept captured me. The couple that everyone thinks is perfect but they both share a secret. Mugi and Hanabi may look like the perfect couple but they both like someone else. Their relationship was built on the fact that they are both lonely, having hopeless crushes on their teachers, and share their sympathies. It is a mature anime and I have hopes this doesn't turn into anything cringe worthy. It's genre is romance, seinen (mature), drama, and school.

Shingeko no Bahamut: Virgin Soul
The sequel to a very amazing anime, Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis. Action packed and character deep into the disaster that took place in the first season. A girl with a magical key that unlocks the power of the most dangerous dragon. She finds the main characters having their own quarrel. The two other mains have a long history of rivalry and they've been at each other's necks since childhood. When the sarcastic, lovable Favaro finds the beautiful Amira he makes a half assed promise to help her on her journey. He is unknowing of her real mission and only goes about this promise because she curses him so he doesn't escape. His rival Kaisar follows to see what "evil" lurks inside Favaro and ends up getting mixed in.

I am overjoyed and impatient to watch these new anime. This year will be filled with amazing anime and binge watching. I hope you enjoyed reading and maybe are interested in one of the upcoming anime. If you're interested myanimelist has the entire list for these next seasons on what is coming out, check it out here. Thanks for reading, have a great day!!
