The anime that have impacted my life the most and inspired me in many ways. Since I have watched over 80 anime and I can't exactly talk about that many I have picked the top 10 from my list. It was extremely hard to pick this list out because so many anime have inspired me and changed me.
10. Orange
If I learned anything from anime is that to always have hope and to cherish everyday like your last. This anime represents that in a few different ways with the main character and his struggles. I actually read the manga before I watched the anime and highly prefer the manga, the anime misses quite a few things that I adored in the manga. Psst... read the manga... The anime's animation is a bit different from what I was expecting, the lips are very different from what I usually see. The opening and ending themes are definitely different as well. It's not what I was expecting from the anime. Other than the art style the plot is very original. The main character gets this letter from her future self to help save the new transfer student. The characters are like typical high school students and go through the usual teenage problems including saving Kakeru. My #1 favorite manga but not so much my favorite anime.
9. Dimension W
This anime is just plopped onto this list. The theme is one of my favorite songs since I absolutely love techno dubstep songs. Although that is not why I just "plopped" this anime here. The main character grabbed my attention right from the start and I fell in love with his character. Kyoma Mabuchi is very interesting in fact I can relate to him, in fact I created one of my own original characters off of him. For a time I really clung to his personality and really He's stuck in this world that he hates and it takes place many centuries into the future. The struggles he goes through are very action based and the animation is very well thought out. In one of my next posts you'll hear the opening theme!
8. Mushishi
This is one of the first anime I've ever watched. In 7th grade I began watching it on Netflix. Surprisingly my step sister Jaden found it interesting as well. Most anime are subjected around a magic sword and include sexualized women or some sore of adult humor. This anime is different and includes a very clean original plot and background. The art style is very ink like and there is only one main character we get to know. Ginko is the main character and he is a mushi master. mushishi are invisible creatures that effect our lives but we don't know they do because we can't see them. Ginko can see them and travels Japan to help the people who are having mushi problems. It is very beautiful and if you're looking for a peaceful and calm anime this one deserves a try.
7. Boku no Hero Academia
This anime is really the first time I've ever watched anything to do with superheroes. I relate to the main character and his struggles to fit in because he has no superpowers. I think the art style is unique and Chidori (main character) is just the cutest, precious thing. Of course I say that about all anime characters I love lol. The plot is very simple and all their superpowers are unique. Since I've never really been interested in superpowers, from watching this anime it gave me new inspiration to maybe create a superhero of my own.
6. Hetalia
Although I am not quite as interested in this anime anymore it really helped me through junior high. This anime is unique in its own way entirely. The art is pretty much lazy in the first four seasons and the plot derives from historical events. The main characters are actually all countries and represent each one to tell us about historic events in a crack comedy way. It's not really mature but the events that happen really did happen.
5. Ao Haru Ride
This anime has given me hope in love. It's about a childhood crush but the crush moves far away. In high school he comes back and the two meet again. Both of them changed and are very different from each other, it talks about when they were little and how they grew up. It's filled with happy and sad moments that fill my heart with bittersweet feelings. The anime ended with only 13 episodes and lots of anime end short so I binge read the entire manga in one night just to see what happens. Those 55 chapters ended with a bittersweet ending. Yes, I cried.
4. Your Lie in April
All I can say off the bat is this anime is heart wrenching, beautiful, painful, and bittersweet. After finishing the anime it took me a good three days to get over my sadness. The characters were so well developed and I could feel what they were feeling. I learned quite a few things from this anime on a very personal level and if you watch you'll understand what I mean. The art style of the characters is unique and clean. I enjoy watching anime that are very colorful such as this one. Not only are the characters amazing but the theme songs to both opening and endings were beautiful. The art style is very very articulate and breathtaking. If you'd like to take a few minutes to observe the themes here is a link to each one: Opening 1, I'd put ending 1 but unfortunately I couldn't find it on youtube for some odd reason, Opening 2, Ending 2. Although I advise you watch the anime before watching the last ending, most of the time they go along with the plot and may include spoilers. A good opening and ending theme bring the anime together, and that's what makes this anime a must watch and a masterpiece.
3. Haikyuu!!
Currently my top favorite anime and most obsessed with. It a sports anime which is off for me to be into because I grew up hating sports. The characters caught my eye and I fell for it after watching the first few episodes. It jumps those sports stereo types giving the characters goofy personalities instead of just making them all jocks or really mean and competitive. The characters learn how to come together and play as a team. It is filled with funny scenes and challenges to face all together. Each character is very different which makes this anime funny.
2. Spirited Away
I grew up watching this movie, even begged my mom to order it from the library. One day she even surprised me by also renting out a couple art books on it. Miyazaki's films are some of the most beautiful anime films I've ever seen. In retrospect this was actually my first anime but since it's a movie I don't consider it to be my first since it's not a series. I wish it was though, the ending was beautiful and it had me wanting more. Beautiful characters that I fell in love with instantly, even the bad guy in the movie I ended up really liking.
1. Angel Beats!
This anime deserves the number one spot because it was the very first anime I ever watched and funny story is a rewatched it and stayed up till 5 one morning binge watching it. It was summer of 7th grade (just graduated from elementary school) and I discovered this gem in Netlfix. This anime is about the afterlife and fighting to live. It's a very emotional anime and filled with life lessons with amazing characters. Lots of humor and getting to know each characters back stories is very deep. The ending really broke though me and at the time of watching it this anime filled me with lots of hope.
Before I start having second thoughts of these anime I'll post this. My next post is my top favorite theme songs which will also be just as difficult. Thanks for reading, have a heartful day~!!
